CPT Knowledgebase - Jan 27, 2014

Codes 61500 and 61501 describe craniectomies with excision of tumor or other bone lesion of skull (61500) and for osteomyelitis (61501) without mention of a bone graft or plastic replacement to reconstruct the skull. Is the bone graft placement an integral part of codes 61500 and 61501, or should a separate code be reported?
