If conscious sedation is used for closed treatment of a proximal tibiofibular joint dislocation, with or without internal or external fixation, which CPT code would be used, CPT code 27830 (without anesthesia) or 27831 (requires anesthesia)? Is conscious sedation synonymous with anesthesia/an anesthetic?
