If the first coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) was performed via thoracotomy and then 60 days later, the surgeons redo the CABG, is it appropriate to report CPT code 33530, Reoperation, coronary artery bypass procedure or valve procedure, more than one month after original operation (List separately in addition to code for primary procedure), without a sternotomy being performed for the first CABG?
