In the Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) 2014, it states a unit of time is attained when the mid-point is passed (CPT Pro 2014, page xv). Does this apply to selecting the level of Evaluation and Management (E/M) services when counseling and coordination of care dominate the encounter, and time is considered the key factor?
