Can an inguinal hernia repair and a diagnostic laparoscopy both be reported when performed during the same session? Our surgeon repairs an inguinal hernia either by laparoscopic (CPT 49560) or opens approach (49491-49525) on one side and then performs a separate incision in the contralateral groin to determine if there is a second hernia to repair.
