Looking at the interprofessional consultations code series, are these specific to provider-to-provider communications? Meaning, in a facility setting, if a nurse asks an on-call provider a question via an EHR or phone (due to a change in condition), this would or would not be legitimate to use this series of codes? We were under the impression these were always provider-to-provider/qualified health professional (QHP) and appropriate source would not include an RN or MA since this is a typical workflow between nurses and providers who might not be at the bedside.To view the Official AMA answer and 1000s more like this:
