The new CPT code 44705, Preparation of fecal microbiota for instillation, including assessment of donor specimen, does not include the instillation. The parenthetical note following the code instructs to report the unlisted code 44799 (REVISED IN 2015) for fecal instillation by oro-nasogastric tube or enema. Please advise how to report if the instillation is done via colonoscopy or via EGD.
