Is selection of code 63185 or 63190 (selective dorsal rhizotomy) based upon the number of lamina (bone segments) removed to expose the dural sac and nerve roots and perform the rhizotomy OR is it based upon the number of nerve roots sectioned? Some surgeons remove one lamina and section one root, while other surgeons remove one lamina and section multiple roots (4-5 roots).
