ASCs could get Medicare pay for TKAs, artificial disk surgeries in 2013
A CMS proposal to remove total knee arthroplasty (TKAs, 27447) and artificial disk replacement (22856) from Medicare’s inpatient procedure list could turn into a new revenue opportunity for orthopedic practices that own ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs).
