ICD-10-CM coding:
Assign new SSI diagnosis codes based on depth of infection
Practices can expect surgical site infections (SSI) to occur in as many as 5% of U.S. surgical cases and are linked to an 11-fold increase in the risk of death when they do occur, according to a 2017 study. Now there are four new complication T codes to report for SSI infections.
