Inside CCI: Joint injection bundled into open joint procedures

The latest update to the National Correct Coding Initiative Policy Manual (Version 17.3) includes updated code bundling policies for arthrocentesis with open joint surgery, and joint removal with joint replacement, among other changes.

The manual changes, issued Dec. 1, 2011, took effect for services on or after Jan. 1, 2012.
