Q&A: Surgeon must place 2 separate fixation devices to report femoral fracture treatment with hip revision

Question: The surgeon documented treatment of a femoral fracture in addition to revision of the femoral component of a hip prosthesis. We are not finding a CCI edit for codes 27138 and 27244. AAOS allows for osteotomy of intertrochanteric/ subtrochanteric of the femur (e.g., 27165) but does not mention fractures in either the allowed or included. Is it appropriate to report both the revision and the fracture reduction?
