Vicodin rescheduling — NPP impact by state

Non-physician practitioners (NPPs) who are currently able to prescribe hydrocodone combination products such as Vicodin should double-check their prescriptive authority to make sure they will be able to prescribe the drugs once they move from Schedule III to the more restrictive Schedule II on Oct. 6 (see story, Compliance issues: Vicodin’s new DEA status could impact your NPPs, patients and practice flow).
