Question: When a patient has allergic contact dermatitis to cement dust, how should I choose an ICD-10 code?

Answer: The diagnosis code for that condition is L23.5 (Allergic contact dermatitis due to other chemical products). In addition to contact dermatitis to cement, use L23.5 when you see these other terms in the encounter notes:
Allergic contact dermatitis due to insecticide
Allergic contact dermatitis due to plastic
Allergic contact dermatitis due to rubber.
