PPS update in line with expectations
Home health agency Medicare payment rates will go up 3.3 percent in 2004, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services announced June 27.
Payment rates for HHAs are updated annually based on the percentage change in the home health market basket index, a measure of inflation for goods and services connected with home health services.
The payment will boost HHA payments by a total of about $340 million next year, according to CMS estimates.
