Industry Notes: COVID-19 PHE Gets Renewed for a 7th Time
The COVID-19 public health emergency (PHE) isn’t going away any time soon, suggests the latest PHE declaration. Now: Effective Oct. 18, Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Xavier Becerra renewed the COVID-19 PHE for the seventh time. Former HHS Secretary Alex Azar previously renewed the PHE declaration on April 21, 2020, July 23, 2020, Oct. 2, 2020, and Becerra subsequently issued renewals on Jan. 7, April 15, and July 19 of this year, Biden administration officials have previously indicated the PHE would run through at least the end of 2021. ...
