Industry Notes: Here’s the Latest on CMS’ New Administrator
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) finally has an official Administrator at its helm once again.
President Biden announced Chiquita Brooks-LaSure as his nominee back in February, but the U.S. Senate confirmed her only on May 25. After an April 15 confirmation hearing, the Senate Finance Committee “failed to report favorably” on her nomination. The “no” votes from Republican senators appeared to be in response to CMS’ revocation of Texas’ 1115 Medicaid waiver.
