Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services analyst Sean Tunis, MD, has been appointed the agency's chief medical officer, a post he's held in an acting capacity for the past year. Tunis, an emergency physician, previously was director of CMS's coverage and analysis group.John Richardson has joined the Washington-based consultancy Health Strategies. He was a Medicare analyst at the White House Office of Management and Budget, specializing in Part B issues, and most recently directed development of new programs at Orange County, CA-based CalOptima, a Medicaid managed care organization.
