Reporting multiple ulcers? Next year, reduce confusion with separate codes for bilateral locations. Coding for pressure ulcers in ICD-9 seems pretty straightforward, but don’t relax your standards too much, as your coding will change when ICD-10 goes into effect Oct. 1, 2014.
