Providers continue to work on Capitol Hill to win reform of the formula Medicare uses to set physician payments, according to attorney Allison Shuren with Arent Fox Kintner Plotkin & Kahn in Washington, D.C. "The AMAhas put together a coalition of varying providers who bill from the Part B fee schedule, and we've been educating on this issue."Some support Rep. Nancy Johnson's (R-Ct.) plan to boost payments for two years, followed by a real reform of the formula. Others would like to amend the formula sooner if possible, fearing that any delay may doom reform efforts...
