Introduction

Welcome to IntelliSearch™ beta

The Intuitive, Accurate and Agile Search Engine for Today’s Coding Professionals

IntelliSearch™ is an all-in-one coding search engine designed to provide accurate and relevant information tailored to your personal coding preferences. It is divided into three sections: Search, Context and Details.

Search

The Search section allows you to enter codes and words to search in code sets, newsletters, books, documents and other data sets. The two gray bars that divide the sections may be dragged horizontally to expand or contract the sections.

Search results are divided into types. These sections vary depending on the data sets selected and the codes or keywords searched.

Search Result Types

Codes
Exact code matches.

Index Results
Alphabetically indexed view of code results.

Codes by Code Set
Lists exact and partial code matches by code set.

Coming Soon!

In the Search section there are 4 buttons: Data Sets, History, Settings, and Help.

Data Sets

The data sets window is accessed by clicking on the large button which lists the currently searched data sets.

From this window you may select any number of data sets to search on, including code sets, newsletters, Books, Documents, and more. Your search will only display results from your selected data sets.

History

The history window is accessed by clicking on the triple bar icon. The history window is split into three sections: Codes, Searches, and Pages.

Codes
Lists recent code pages you have viewed on Find-A-Code.

Searches
Lists recent searches you have made using the Find-A-Code Search page, or IntelliSearch™.

Pages
Lists recent pages you have visited on Find-A-Code.

Settings

The settings window is accessed by clicking on the gear icon. Begin by selecting which setting section you would like to change.

Search

Show non-Active Codes
If checked, deleted or retired codes will be shown in the results. Leave unchecked to hide the deleted and retired codes.

Show Code Matches
Scan the search words to see if they match codes. Matches will be shown in the "codes" tab. A subscription is NOT required to see code matches, but some code titles/descriptions are not displayed without appropriate subscriptions.

Show Index Results
Show results from indexes for ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-PCS (depending on your subscription - a subscription is required to see index results).

Show CCI Edits
If multiple CPT/HCPCS codes are entered as search terms, you can see the CCI Edits for those codes (either facility or non-facility - depending on subscription - a subscription is required to see either).

Detail Sections for Code Sets

Individual detail sections for each code set can be shown, hidden, and reordered based on personal preference.

Help

The help window is accessed by clicking on the question mark icon.

This window provides helpful explanations and instructions for using the various tools and features found in IntelliSearch™.

Context

The context section provides an in-context view of your selected search result.

After performing a search and selecting a desired result from the Search section, contextual information will be displayed in the context section. The type of contextual information displayed in this section varies depending on the code set or type of search result selected.

CodeBook View™

Most code sets such as ICD-10-CM or CPT^© will display contextual information using the Finda-A-Code CodeBook View™. An example can be seen here.

Clicking the "previous section of codes" or "next section of codes" button, when available, will display the proceeding or following code sections respectively.

Selecting a code from this CodeBook View™ will display code details in the details section.

Details

The details section provides in-depth information on your search and context selections. Information provided in the details section is tailored to you based on the code you selected and your settings and preferences from the settings window.

Code details are split into tabs, starting with an overview tab called the Snapshot. This page, like the rest of the details section, will display the information you have selected in whatever order you prefer, and will not display any information you have chosen to hide.
