Deprecated APOE gene allele 3 [Identifier] in Blood or Tissue by Molecular genetics method Nominal 34733-6
LOINC Code
LOINC code | 34733-6 | ||
---|---|---|---|
name | Deprecated APOE gene allele 3 [Identifier] in Blood or Tissue by Molecular genetics method Nominal | ||
status | DEPRECATED | ||
status reason | Erroneous - The APOE gene allele 3 and APOE gene allele 4 terms were deprecated because their meaning was ambiguous. We believe these two terms were created in error due to confusion between allele numbering (i.e., allele 1 and 2, which represent the two copies of a given gene that are present in single cell) and the APOE allele variants e2, e3 and e4. LOINC 21619-2 APOE gene mutation analysis should be used to report the APOE genotype, or 34731-0 APOE gene allele 1 and 34732-8 APOE gene allele 2 can be used together to report the result for each individual APOE allele. | ||

Fully-Specified Name | |||
component | APOE gene allele 3 | ||
property | Prid = Presence or identity: Prid stands for “Presence or identity”, is used for assays that detect whether or not an analyte of a particular kind is present, and if it is, to identify the specific analyte. | ||
time | Pt = Point in time: To identify measures at a point in time. This is a synonym for “spot” or “random” as applied to urine measurements. | ||
system | Bld/Tiss Bld = Whole blood Tiss = Tissue, unspecified | ||
scale | Nom = Nominal: Nominal or categorical responses that do not have a natural ordering. (e.g., names of bacteria, reported as answers, categories of appearance that do not have a natural ordering, such as, yellow, clear, bloody. | ||
method | Molgen = Molecular Genetics: General class of methods used to detect genetic attributes on a molecular basis including RFL, PCR and other methods. | ||
