Hemoglobin A1c/Hemoglobin.total in Blood by Electrophoresis   4549-2

LOINC Code

LOINC code4549-2
nameHemoglobin A1c/Hemoglobin.total in Blood by Electrophoresis
descriptionChanging from the property from Mass fraction to substance fraction has not effect on the meaning when the molecular weight of the numerator and the denominator are the same (for practical purposes). These terms had had a property of MFR in the past and we changed to SFR because we thought the LOINC community preferred SFR for HbA1c. But we mis understood the preference is to use the MFR variant- so we have changed back.

Fully-Specified Name

componentHemoglobin A1c/Hemoglobin.total
propertyMFr  =  Mass Fraction
timePt  =  Point in time:  To identify measures at a point in time. This is a synonym for “spot” or “random” as applied to urine measurements.
systemBld  =  Whole blood
scaleQn  =  Quantitative:  The result of the test is a numeric value that relates to a continuous numeric scale. Reported either as an integer, a ratio, a real number, or a range. The test result value may optionally contain a relational operator from the set {<=, <, >, >=}. Valid values for a quantitative test are of the form "7", "-7", "7.4", "-7.4", "7.8912", "0.125", "<10", "<10.15", ">12000", 1-10, 1:256
