Fibrin D-dimer FEU [Mass/volume] in Platelet poor plasma by Immunoassay   48067-3

LOINC Code

LOINC code48067-3
nameFibrin D-dimer FEU [Mass/volume] in Platelet poor plasma by Immunoassay
descriptionD-dimer is considered a coagulation or hemostasis assay and will usually require platelet poor plasma (PPP); tests done on whole blood are the exception. Some assays do not specify PPP (e.g. VIDAS D-Dimer Exclusion II, Biomerieux, Inc) per se but the whole blood is spun down to yield plasma, which will be low in platelets. Spinning is the most common way to obtain plasma low in platelets.

Fully-Specified Name

componentFibrin D-dimer FEU
propertyMCnc  =  Mass Concentration
timePt  =  Point in time:  To identify measures at a point in time. This is a synonym for “spot” or “random” as applied to urine measurements.
systemPPP  =  Platelet poor plasma
scaleQn  =  Quantitative:  The result of the test is a numeric value that relates to a continuous numeric scale. Reported either as an integer, a ratio, a real number, or a range. The test result value may optionally contain a relational operator from the set {<=, <, >, >=}. Valid values for a quantitative test are of the form "7", "-7", "7.4", "-7.4", "7.8912", "0.125", "<10", "<10.15", ">12000", 1-10, 1:256
methodIA  =  Immunoassay:  Encompasses all immunoassays with a few exceptions, including Immune Blot and Immune Fluorescence, which were created based on historic usage.

Associated Observations

LOINC codes that represent optional associated observation(s) for a clinical observation or laboratory test. A LOINC term may represent a single associated observation or panel containing several associated observations.

last change typeMIN  - change to field other than name
change reasonThe EIA method, which was always intended to cover more than just enzyme-linked immunoassay and whose display name for the long common name has always been Immunoassay, was renamed IA in order to eliminate ambiguity about whether the method has a broader meaning than just enzyme-linked immunoassay. Likewise, EIA.rapid was renamed IA.rapid. These changes were approved by the Laboratory LOINC Committee in June 2016.
