HIV 2 Ab Signal/Cutoff in Serum or Plasma by Immunoassay   51786-2

nameHIV 2 Ab Signal/Cutoff in Serum or Plasma by Immunoassay
descriptionHuman Immunodeficiency Virus 2 (HIV2) Antibody Optical Density(OD) to Cutoff (CO) Ratio. Optical density values are providing and indication of the amount of color development during the testing procedure. Color development is proportionate to the antibody concentration in the specimen. A mathematical formula based on the negative controls multiplied by a factor produces a cutoff(CO) value to which the OD of the ptient sample is compared to determine the antibody status. Specimens with OD/CO values greater than 1.0 in an indirect ELISA method are considered positive.

Fully-Specified Name

componentHIV 2 Ab Signal/Cutoff
propertyRelACnc  =  Relative Arbitrary Concentration
timePt  =  Point in time:  To identify measures at a point in time. This is a synonym for “spot” or “random” as applied to urine measurements.
systemSer/Plas
    Ser  =  Serum
    Plas  =  Plasma
scaleQn  =  Quantitative:  The result of the test is a numeric value that relates to a continuous numeric scale. Reported either as an integer, a ratio, a real number, or a range. The test result value may optionally contain a relational operator from the set {<=, <, >, >=}. Valid values for a quantitative test are of the form "7", "-7", "7.4", "-7.4", "7.8912", "0.125", "<10", "<10.15", ">12000", 1-10, 1:256
methodIA  =  Immunoassay:  Encompasses all immunoassays with a few exceptions, including Immune Blot and Immune Fluorescence, which were created based on historic usage.

last change typeMIN  - change to field other than name
change reasonUpdated system from Ser to Ser/Plas; The EIA method, which was always intended to cover more than just enzyme-linked immunoassay and whose display name for the long common name has always been Immunoassay, was renamed IA in order to eliminate ambiguity about whether the method has a broader meaning than just enzyme-linked immunoassay. Likewise, EIA.rapid was renamed IA.rapid. These changes were approved by the Laboratory LOINC Committee in June 2016.
