nameHLA-DRB1 SBT [Type] in Specimen by High resolution
descriptionHLA-DRB typing identifies HLA allelic polymorphism using DNA amplified by Polymerase Chain Reaction(PCR). HLA typing is vital for bone marrow transplantation. Well-matched donors increase patient survival and decreases incidence of graft vs.host disease. HLA-DRB1 sequence typing is used to identify unrelated allogeneic bone marrow donors who are HLA-DRB genotypic matches to the recipient. For DRB1, the allelic variability is mainly in the second exon, clustered in three distinct regions that show variance. If fewer than two alleles is reported for a locus, the patient is likely to be homozygous for that locus, but the possibility of the presence of rare alleles exists. Information from ARUP Laboratories 2007 07 17.

propertyType  =  Type:  The Property Type is used for assays that identify the specific analyte in cases when the baseline presence of the analyte is known.
timePt  =  Point in time:  To identify measures at a point in time. This is a synonym for “spot” or “random” as applied to urine measurements.
systemXXX
scaleNom  =  Nominal:  Nominal or categorical responses that do not have a natural ordering. (e.g., names of bacteria, reported as answers, categories of appearance that do not have a natural ordering, such as, yellow, clear, bloody.
