description | Measurement to ascertain the respondent's age of initiation of first/regular use of cigarettes, which can be used to calculate duration of use and pack-years measures. There are two questions in this protocol. The first question is asked of respondents classified as a "Smoker" or "Non Smoker" in the Tobacco - Smoking Status (Adolescent Protocol). The second question is asked of three categories of smokers: "Current Every-Day Smoker" as well as "Current Some-Day Smoker" and "Former Smoker" if these last two respondent categories had also responded "yes" to the last question in the Tobacco - Smoking Status (Adolescent Protocol). | ||
