namet(4;11)(q21.3;q23)(AFF1,MLL) fusion transcript/control transcript [# Ratio] in Blood or Tissue by Molecular genetics method
descriptionA translocation involving chromosomes 4 and 11, t(4;11)(q21.3;q23), results in a fused transcript between AFF1 and MLL genes. The AFF1-MLL fusion gene is associated with childhood and adult acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) as well as infant acute leukemia. This code is based on, but not limited to, Ispogen's FusionQuant® kit, which uses real-time Quantitative RQ-PCR to quantify the expression level of specific AFF1-MLL fusion transcripts relative to a control gene transcript (e.g. ABL1). Standard curves of known amounts of both the control and fusion transcript are used to calculate the ratio of the fusion transcript signal to the control gene signal.

    Bld  =  Whole blood
    Tiss  =  Tissue, unspecified
scaleQn  =  Quantitative:  The result of the test is a numeric value that relates to a continuous numeric scale. Reported either as an integer, a ratio, a real number, or a range. The test result value may optionally contain a relational operator from the set {<=, <, >, >=}. Valid values for a quantitative test are of the form "7", "-7", "7.4", "-7.4", "7.8912", "0.125", "<10", "<10.15", ">12000", 1-10, 1:256
methodMolgen  =  Molecular Genetics:  General class of methods used to detect genetic attributes on a molecular basis including RFL, PCR and other methods.
