nameMICA*041 IgG Ab [Presence] in Serum
descriptionIgG antibodies to MICA antigens, including MICA*041, can be detected in the serum of people during pregnancy, blood product transfusion, or unsuccessful organ transplants. MICA antibody testing identifies antibodies against a panel of MICA antigens by methods such as flow cytometry. MICA antibody testing using serum can be done pre and post transplantation. A positive result is an indication of sensitization to MICA antigens. This term is based on, but not exclusive to, the submitter's test kit, LIFECODES LSA(TM)-MIC, a Luminex® screening assay for the qualitative detection of anti-MICA IgG antibodies.

change reasonThe PrThr property is used for LOINC terms whose results are reported using an ordered categorical scale, regardless of whether or not an internal threshold was used to make that determination. This change was approved by the Laboratory LOINC Committee in June 2016.
