Bruton tyrosine kinase [Interpretation] in B cells+monocytes by Flow cytometry (FC) Narrative   75708-8

LOINC Code

LOINC code75708-8
nameBruton tyrosine kinase [Interpretation] in B cells+monocytes by Flow cytometry (FC) Narrative
descriptionAnalysis of the Bruton tyrosine kinase (Btk) protein by flow cytometry is performed as a preliminary screen for X-linked agammaglobulinemia (XLA), primarily in male patients (<65 years of age) or female carriers (child-bearing age: <45 years). Since genotype-phenotype correlations are important, BTK gene sequencing [LOINC: 35295-5] is performed when the Btk protein is absent by flow cytometry to confirm the diagnosis of XLA.
