nameLeft ventricular Myocardial mass/Body surface area [Mass/Area] by US.2D+Calculated by truncated ellipsoid method
descriptionThe myocardial index is the left ventricular (LV) mass normalized for body size, which can be approximated by different measures including body surface area (BSA) and height. This term represents a BSA-based index. BSA can be calculated by a number of methods including the Mostellar and Du Bois formulas, or in some cases the average adult BSA, 1.73 m2, is used by default. Left ventricular mass calculated by the truncated ellipsoid formula on 2D ultrasound is as follows: 1.05 * Pi * {(b+t)^2 * [2/3 * (a+t)+d-d^3/(3 * (a+t))^2] - b^2 * [2/3 * a + d - d^3/(3 * a^2)]}, where a = distance from the minor axis to the endocardium at the LV apex, b = LV minor radius, t = mean wall thickness, and d = distance from the minor axis to the mitral valve plane. Fully-Specified Name

componentMyocardial mass/Body surface area
propertyArMass  =  Mass/Area
timePt  =  Point in time:  To identify measures at a point in time. This is a synonym for “spot” or “random” as applied to urine measurements.
systemHeart.ventricle.left
scaleQn  =  Quantitative:  The result of the test is a numeric value that relates to a continuous numeric scale. Reported either as an integer, a ratio, a real number, or a range. The test result value may optionally contain a relational operator from the set {<=, <, >, >=}. Valid values for a quantitative test are of the form "7", "-7", "7.4", "-7.4", "7.8912", "0.125", "<10", "<10.15", ">12000", 1-10, 1:256
