name | Leishmania infantum+donovani IgG Ab [Titer] in Serum or Plasma by Immunofluorescence
description | This assay detects antibodies against Leishmania donovani IgG for L. infantum screening based on the known cross reactivity between L. donovani and L. infantum. If the Leishmania IIFT is positive, a monospecific test (example Westernblot) can be performed to differentiate the pathogenic agents and confirm the diagnosis. Immunoglobulin specific slides distinguish between IgG, IgM and IgA. No reaction at a 1:320 titer indicates no IgG class antibodies against Leishmania donovani are detected, but infection cannot be excluded. A reaction of a titer at 1:320 is positive indicating a former or acute infection. This term was created for, but not limited in use to, the submitter's Anti-Leishmania donovani indirect immunofluorescence test kit.

Fully-Specified Name | |||
component | Leishmania infantum+donovani Ab.IgG
property | Titr = Dilution Factor (Titer)
time | Pt = Point in time: To identify measures at a point in time. This is a synonym for “spot” or “random” as applied to urine measurements.
system | Ser/Plas Ser = Serum Plas = Plasma
scale | SemiQn | ||
method | IF = Immune Fluorescence: Encompasses DFA, IFA, FA. Usually applies to cells and smears examined microscopically so that both the “where” and the “what” can be assessed, but can also be used on fluids in a way similar to ELISA. Does not include Cell binding assays (see CBA IFA above).
