Respiratory pathogens DNA and RNA tested for in Respiratory system specimen by NAA with probe detection   82134-8

LOINC Code

LOINC code82134-8
nameRespiratory pathogens DNA and RNA tested for in Respiratory system specimen by NAA with probe detection
descriptionThis term should be used to report which respiratory bacteria and viruses are included in a specific laboratory's respiratory pathogen screening panel and is a companion term to [LOINC:81655-3], which is used to report which pathogens are found.

Fully-Specified Name

componentRespiratory pathogens DNA & RNA tested for
propertyPrid  =  Presence or identity:  Prid stands for “Presence or identity”, is used for assays that detect whether or not an analyte of a particular kind is present, and if it is, to identify the specific analyte.
timePt  =  Point in time:  To identify measures at a point in time. This is a synonym for “spot” or “random” as applied to urine measurements.
systemRespiratory System Specimen
scaleNom  =  Nominal:  Nominal or categorical responses that do not have a natural ordering. (e.g., names of bacteria, reported as answers, categories of appearance that do not have a natural ordering, such as, yellow, clear, bloody.

Associated Observations

LOINC codes that represent optional associated observation(s) for a clinical observation or laboratory test. A LOINC term may represent a single associated observation or panel containing several associated observations.

last change typeMAJ  - change to name field other than Component;
change reasonRelease 2.75: SYSTEM: There are 2 similar system's in LOINC: 1- Respiratory system 2- Respiratory specimen Due to an applied logic, the display in the System axis for 1 is Respiratory (adjective) without specification of sample, specimen, or other specific noun, while 2 is displayed fully as Respiratory specimen. Therefore for now we replaced 1 with Respiratory system specimen, which will affect 83 term. The result is replacing "Respiratory" with "Respiratory system specimen". This is the short approach. The bigger project is to potentially merge data that has either 1 or 2 together. This is a project to pass by the laboratory committee and will involve about 1500 concepts.; Previous Releases: Changed "bacteria and viruses" in Component to "pathogens" for naming consistency across terms.
