nameGleason score at positive margin in Prostate tumor Qualitative
descriptionThe Gleason score of the tumor at the positive surgical margin (PSM) is a recommended element of the International Collaboration on Cancer Reporting (ICCR) dataset.(http://www.iccr-cancer.org/datasets) If there are multiple PSMs with differently scored cancers present, the highest score is recorded. The Gleason score at the PSM is a known independent predictor of biochemical recurrence and may be used in the selection of patients for adjuvant therapy.[PMID: 21992536] This term was created for, but not limited in use to, the cancer structured reporting protocols developed by the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (RCPA) for structured reporting of various cancers.
