name | Porcine epidemic diarrhea virus IgG Ab [Titer] in Serum by Immunofluorescence
description | This term is used to report the titer of IgG antibodies against Porcine epidemic virus (PEDv) based on immunofluorescence staining pattern. IgG antibodies to PEDv are typically be detected 7 to 14 days following exposure. Samples are compared to positive and negative controls. If cells fluoresce brilliant blue-green color against a background of non-infected cells, then the sample is considered positive; If cells do not fluoresce brilliantly but may show background non-specific fluorescence, then the sample is considered negative.; If cells fluoresce weakly and is not background fluorescence, then the sample is considered suspect. If high background fluorescence does not allow for an accurate determination to be made, then the sample is considered inconclusive. Titers that are equal to or greater than 1:40 are considered positive.

Fully-Specified Name | |||
component | Porcine epidemic diarrhea virus Ab.IgG
property | Titr = Dilution Factor (Titer)
time | Pt = Point in time: To identify measures at a point in time. This is a synonym for “spot” or “random” as applied to urine measurements.
system | Ser = Serum | ||
scale | SemiQn | ||
method | IF = Immune Fluorescence: Encompasses DFA, IFA, FA. Usually applies to cells and smears examined microscopically so that both the “where” and the “what” can be assessed, but can also be used on fluids in a way similar to ELISA. Does not include Cell binding assays (see CBA IFA above).
