name | Carbapenemase [Presence] in Isolate
description | The detection of carbapenemase-producing isolates by various phenotypic methods, including the Modified Hodge Test (MHT) and Carbapemenase Inactivation Method (CIM). In MHT, carbapenemase production is detected when the test isolate produces the enzyme and allows growth of a carbapenem susceptible strain (E.coli ATCC 25922) towards a carbapenem disk. The result is a characteristic cloverleaf-like indentation. For CIM, a disk containing the indicator antibiotic meropenem is incubated for 2 hours in a bacterial suspension of the isolate. When the isolate produces carbapenemase, the meropenem in the disk is inactivated allowing uninhibited growth of an indicator strain.[PMID: 28476242]

property | PrThr = Present or threshold: The Property PrThr stands for “Presence or Threshold”, meaning either a) the actual presence or absence of an analyte, or b) that the amount of analyte detected is over some predetermined threshold.
time | Pt = Point in time: To identify measures at a point in time. This is a synonym for “spot” or “random” as applied to urine measurements.
system | Isolate | ||
scale | Ord = Ordinal: Ordered categorical responses, e.g., 1+, 2+, 3+; positive, negative; reactive, indeterminate, nonreactive.
