Soluble CD14 subtype [Mass/volume] in Serum, Plasma or Blood by Immunoassay   94554-3

LOINC Code

LOINC code94554-3
nameSoluble CD14 subtype [Mass/volume] in Serum, Plasma or Blood by Immunoassay
descriptionQuantitative mass concentration of soluble CD14-subtype (sCD14-ST, also known as Presepsin) in whole blood, serum or plasma for the diagnosis and prognosis of sepsis and to monitor the course of the disease. This test may be performed on neonates or immunosupressed patients (e.g. post-transplantation) in which other inflammation markers (e.g. IL-6, CRP, procalcitonin) are elevated due to other factors, including post-surgery systemic inflammatory response or administration of anti-thymocyte globulin.

Fully-Specified Name

componentSoluble CD14 subtype
propertyMCnc  =  Mass Concentration
timePt  =  Point in time:  To identify measures at a point in time. This is a synonym for “spot” or “random” as applied to urine measurements.
systemSer/Plas/Bld
    Ser  =  Serum
    Plas  =  Plasma
    Bld  =  Whole blood
scaleQn  =  Quantitative:  The result of the test is a numeric value that relates to a continuous numeric scale. Reported either as an integer, a ratio, a real number, or a range. The test result value may optionally contain a relational operator from the set {<=, <, >, >=}. Valid values for a quantitative test are of the form "7", "-7", "7.4", "-7.4", "7.8912", "0.125", "<10", "<10.15", ">12000", 1-10, 1:256
methodIA  =  Immunoassay:  Encompasses all immunoassays with a few exceptions, including Immune Blot and Immune Fluorescence, which were created based on historic usage.
