Elevations of dermatan sulfate and/or heparan sulfate is associated with mucopolysaccharidoses types I, II, III, VI and VII. Elevations of keratan sulfate is associated with mucopolysaccharidoses type IVA and IVB. C6S in urine is a marker for mucopolysaccharidoses IVA and VII. Testing is performed to aid in the diagnosis and monitoring of patients with mucopolysacchariodoses (MPS) types I, II, III, IV, VI, and VII. | ||
