description | Detection of the single-point mutation, T315I, in the ABL1 gene within the BCR-ABL1 fusion transcript. Early detection of T315I mutation in patient's with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) could inform alternative treatment before resistance is detected cytogenetically or before disease progression become evident. Mutations in the kinase domain of the BCR-ABL1 fusion are the leading cause of acquired imatinib resistance. Although mutations have been identified in more than 30 different amino acids, the highest degree of resistance is found to be associated with the T315I mutation.

component | ABL1 gene.c.944C>T
property | PrThr = Present or threshold: The Property PrThr stands for “Presence or Threshold”, meaning either a) the actual presence or absence of an analyte, or b) that the amount of analyte detected is over some predetermined threshold.
time | Pt = Point in time: To identify measures at a point in time. This is a synonym for “spot” or “random” as applied to urine measurements.
system | Bld/Bone mar Bone mar = Marrow (bone) Bld = Whole blood
scale | Ord = Ordinal: Ordered categorical responses, e.g., 1+, 2+, 3+; positive, negative; reactive, indeterminate, nonreactive.
method | Molgen = Molecular Genetics: General class of methods used to detect genetic attributes on a molecular basis including RFL, PCR and other methods.
