Palmetto, a Medicare carrier, recently provided a free webinar about some common problems encountered during audits. This 51 minute webinar is very helpful.

According to Palmetto, "over half the claims that are being audited by the third party contractor lack the necessary information required to pay the claim." Many of the items addressed are easily fixed by making some pretty painless changes to your daily routine. For example, signature problems account for an astounding 68% of claim "errors".
