Medicare Carrier changes for AR, LA, MS, CO, NM, OK, TX

Effective Summer/Fall 2012, the medicare part A/B providers for Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Colorado, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas will be transitioning to Novitas Solutions, Inc. 

This transition will cause existing Client Codes/Fee Schedule lists to become outdated and will need to be updated to continue to have current information. For those wishing to change their carrier to be Novitas, we recommend creating a new Client Codes/Fee Schedule list.
This can be done by the following:
  • Log in to FindACode.com
  • Click "My Account" from the menu
  • On the "Users" tab, under your user information, click the "Add New Client/Fee Schedule" button
  • Give the Location a descriptive name like "New Novitas"
  • Enter your zip code into the "Zip Code" box
  • The medicare contractor will give you a drop-down choice of which carrier to use - the higher number will be Novitas.
  • Finish customizing the Client/Fee Schedule as desired and hit 'Save'
  • Your new Location will appear in the Client/Fee Schedule section at the top of the page (refresh the page if it doesn't show up)
We strongly recommend creating a new Client/Fee Schedule rather than editing an existing one. 
This is because the new carrier did not exist previously, and if you switch to a previous date, data such as (Fees/RVUs and LCDs/Articles) will be incomplete. Having two separate locations will make viewing previous dates easier to handle, rather than having to frequently edit your Client/Fee Schedule manually.

Medicare Part B transition dates:
  • Aug. 13, 2012 - Arkansas, Louisiana
  • Aug. 20, 2012 - Mississippi
  • Nov. 19, 2012 - Colorado, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas
