Is it appropriate to report the upper extremity or lower extremity computed tomography (CT) codes once per joint (ie, codes 73200-73201, 73700-73702)? For example, if CT scans of the right shoulder and elbow joint are performed during the same encounter, is it appropriate to report code 73200 or code 73201 twice on the same date of service?
