The Introduction to the CPT 2017 code set states that a unit of time is attained when the mid-point is passed, and that the standards shall apply to time measurement, unless there are code or code-rangespecific instructions in guidelines, parenthetical instructions, or code descriptors to the contrary. The specific guidelines within the Spine and Spinal Cord Injection, Drainage, or Aspiration subsection explain a different type of time.
